Web
Pages
-
Setting up a web page
for your specialty club is fairly easy. CaTS does all of
the HTML programming for you, all you have to do is design how
you want the page to look.
-
To set up an initial web
page, the easiest way is to set up an MS Word document, and
design it how you would like your page to look. Type in any
text that you want on the page, and insert pictures into the
page where you want them to appear on the web page. Your
finished Word document should look pretty much how you would
like your page to appear. If you will be having more than one
page, be sure to note that on your primary page, and title
each additional page. If you would like links to other
websites put in on your page, just make sure to underline what
you want linked, and to list the link addresses in parentheses
so that CaTS knows what to link the words or picture to. Put
your Word document onto a disk, along with separate files of
any pictures that you used on your web page, and take to CaTS.
The person in charge of doing web pages is Joe Nisil, but if
he is not available, there are usually other people that work
with him who would be able to assist you.
-
To update or change an
existing web page, you can do it a variety of ways. You
can take the information in person to Joe Nisil in CaTS and
just tell him what you want changed, or you can e-mail
webupdate@vet.ksu.edu
with the changes that you want made. If you have a MS
Word document copy of the web page, you can make the changes
to the Word document the way you want them, highlight your
changes with color or some other way to make them stand out,
and then e-mail the document as an attachment to
webupdate@vet.ksu.edu.
This is probably the best way to do update your page to ensure
that the changes are made in exactly the way that you want
them.
Club
Meetings/Events
-
There are no
requirements for club meetings other than what each individual
club may have in their charter. However, SCAVMA does ask that
each club make an effort to avoid conflicts with other clubs
by scheduling meetings that don’t conflict with already
scheduled meetings of other clubs. To further this, SCAVMA
provides a wall calendar in the basement lounge of Trotter
Hall for clubs to write down their meeting dates and times so
that other clubs may try to avoid conflicts.
-
Individual clubs may
occasionally provide wet-labs, continuing education
conferences, field trips, etc.
-
Wet-labs have no
requirements unless live animals will be used. In the event of
live animal usage, all animals must be entered into the VMTH
computers, and approved by the VMTH business office. For more
information on using live animals in wet-labs, and the
requirements, please contact Bertie Lovett in the VMTH
business office.
-
Continuing education
conferences put on by individual clubs must be scheduled
through Linda Johnson in ITC, and are eligible for up to $1000
in reimbursement costs from SCAVMA, as listed under Rules and
Regulations on the SCAVMA web page.
