Sunset Zoo is an AZA accredited zoo with more than 398 animals,
including chimpanzees, warthogs,
Siberian tigers, snow leopards, red pandas, and bald eagles. The
popular habitat immersion
exhibits allow guests to “walk among” a variety of species.

Tuttle Creek
State Park:

Located just north of Manhattan, Tuttle Creek is the second
largest lake in Kansas. There are a variety of activities
available,
including boating, sailing, camping and RV hookups, hiking,
waterskiing, fishing, hunting, and dirt bike activities.
Cico Park:
Located at Wreath and Kimball Avenue, CiCo Park offers an
indoor community center, the County Fairgrounds and arena, a
public fitness course and playground, Bishop Stadium and Track
open seasonally for public use, the Lud Fiser Youth Sports
Complex
which includes a four-plex baseball diamond, three surfaced
tennis courts and a 25 meter
swimming pool with an offset diving well.

Milford
Lake:
Milford Reservoir, a 30-minute drive west of Manhattan, is
Kansas’ largest lake, with 163 miles of
shoreline and over 16,000 surface areas. Milford Lake and the
surrounding 21,000 acres make up
one of Kansas’ prime outdoor habitats. Enjoy native and red
cedars as you walk along 10 miles
of trails. Known as the “Lake of Blue Water,” it is one of the
more scenic Kansas lakes. A great
location for sailing or water sports. For more information

KONZA
PRAIRIE

The Konza Prairie Biological Station is an 8,600-acre tallgrass
prairie preserve owned by The
Nature Conservancy and Kansas State University. Three public
hiking trails, open from dawn to
dusk, are located near the main entrance to Konza Prairie on
McDowell Creek Road. In addition
to flint, invertebrate fossils, native grasses, and wildflowers,
hikers can see deer, coyotes, turkeys,
bats, or other wildlife.
HUNTING
& FISHING
More then 108,000 acres of public hunting land in Manhattan are
free and open to licensed hunters
during regular game seasons. Most Kansas land is privately owned
and owner permission is
required before hunters enter. With approximately 350,000 acres
of standing and flowing water,
Kansas is one of the best-kept fishing secrets in the country.
Area lakes are filled with catfish, walleye,
suageye, crappie, bass, bluegill, wipers, and rainbow trout,
just to name a few.

Equestrian/Hiking
Trails:
Tuttle Creek Lake currently has two separate horse/hiking trails
on the east side of the lake. The
oldest trail located at the Carnahan Recreation Area off Carnahan
Creek Rd. The camp loops provide
great views and you can ride or hike 5-8 miles.
Randolph
State Park Horse and Hiking Trails:
Built in 1996, there are 14.75 miles of trails in the 200-acre
park. The park is divided by

Fancy Creek
State Park:
Located at Tuttle Creek Lake, they offer 4.5 miles of
challenging terrain and is one of
Kansas’ best mountain biking trails.
