2003 Timeline

Attention Current Phi Zeta Members, New Nominees and Non Members:

For Current Phi Zeta Members:

  1. If you have not yet paid your Phi Zeta Dues of $10.00 for 2003 please do so as soon as possible. Please send checks to Wally Cash (See Trailer) made out to Phi Zeta. If you so desire you can pay for your dues and for the banquet ($20.00 per person, see below) all at the same time.

For New Phi Zeta Member Nominees:

  1. If you received a letter last November (2002) indicating your nomination to Phi Zeta and inviting you to the orientation given in December your membership fee is now due. Please forward a check for $20.00 to John Pickrell (see trailer below) made out to Phi Zeta. This fee will cover your membership, new member certificate of membership and also will entitle you to attend the Phi Zeta Banquet on March 4, 2003 at no additional charge. You need only to have been nominated to be eligible for membership. You do not need to have attended the fall orientation.

For All Members, Nominees & Non Members:

  1. Phi Zeta Research Day will be Tuesday, March 4, 2003. There will be no classes in the afternoon for the students in the first three years of the curriculum, and minimization of clinical activities on that afternoon for the 4th year students. This will be the third time we have dedicated a half day to the Phi Zeta presentations and Posters. The turn out and feedback was excellent the previous two years, and we hope that it will be even better this year.

  2. The Phi Zeta Banquet will be in the Union "Flint Hills Room" at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2003. We encourage as many people as possible to attend. The banquet will feature a buffet line with choice of meat and vegetarian entrees as well as vegetables, salad and desert. The cost will be $20.00 per person, and you may send a check made out to Phi Zeta to John Pickrell (see trailer below) at this time if you so desire. The deadline for making reservations to attend the banquet will be 5:00 PM on March 1, 2003.

  3. Presentations and Posters: All undergraduates, professional students, graduate students, interns, residents and post docs are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentations and/or posters i.e. you do not need to be a Phi Zeta member to participate. Please, if you are planning to give a presentation and/or a poster, submit the abstracts for the presentations and posters to Bonnie Rush no later than February 14, 2003. Presentations should be 15 minutes (12-13 minutes plus 2-3 minutes for questions).

  4. Abstracts: Please confine the abstract/s to a single page each with 1 inch margins in Microsoft Word, font 12 or you can use a different word processing software as long as it is easily convertible to Microsoft Word e.g. Corel. Please put in bold the title and the name of the presenter, and underline the name of the faculty sponsor (or major professor etc.). Please send the abstract to Bonnie Rush (see trailer) by no later than 5:00 PM on February 14, 2003. It would be best to send the abstract as an attachment to an e-mail, but you can also deliver it as a floppy disk.
