  • Freshman Orientation and Picnic
The first day of freshman orientation we attended a welcoming ceremony where we each introduced ourselves to our class, faculty, and parents. We went to informational sessions while our parents were able to attend similar sessions and get their questions answered. At the end of the day we attended a picnic on the vet school lawn.

Before classes actually began we had the opportunity to get to know the veterinary school and Manhattan. We attended educational sessions, workshops, and toured the city and campus. We even spent some time in the teaching hospital shadowing senior vet students. The experience kept the first day of veterinary school from being too scary!

  • Intramural Sports
When we aren't studying, some of us like to compete in K-State's Intramural Sports. So far we have had fun playing flag football, ultimate Frisbee, soccer, and volleyball.

  • Social Activities

    • Shaft
The sophomore class held a welcome party, "Shaft," for the freshman the evening of the freshman's first test (The Bone Test). It was a good opportunity to get to know our classmates outside of class.

    • Fall Brawl
The junior class plans a costume party in the fall. It was fun to see everyone's costume. It's hard to believe we had time to get creative with costumes between studying for tests!!

    • Class of 2010 Bonfire
Our social chairs planned a bonfire for the class. We went to Tuttle Creek State Park to hang out and roast marshmallows.

  • Fundraising
We park cars at the vet school during football games. It's a great fundraiser for the freshmen class, and we have a bit of fun as well.

  • Pictures from Class
We are in the following classes: Gross Anatomy, Microanatomy, Veterinary Physiology, and Veterinary Comparative Embryology. Most days our mornings are spent in the lecture hall, our afternoons are spent in lab, and our evenings spent studying. It's a blast! :) It really is amazing how much we are learning!
