KVESS - Kansas Veterinary Educational Supply Service

KVESS Website

In the face of high costs of veterinary books and supplies, a group of veterinary students decided to pool their buying power in 1972 to take advantage of their lower prices achieved with buying in volume. They formed the corporation Kansas Veterinary Educational Supply Service or KVESS.

KVESS is a non-profit organization that is operated solely for the purpose of providing books and supplies to veterinary students and veterinarians. Monies generated from sales profits are distributed back to the student body through the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association or SCAVMA. The monies provide for: speakers at monthly meetings; National Symposium Fund; SAVMA Delegate Convention; Open House expenses; intramurals; Junior surgery packs; and other benefits to students.

The KVESS book store is governed by a Board of Directors made up of student representatives from each class. The student body of the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine serves as the Board of Trustees.

The Board of Directors vote on issues pertaining to the maintenance of the organization.

KVESS has been in operation 27 years. With continued support KVESS should remain an asset to the veterinary students at Kansas State.
