The KSU Chapter of the American Association of Bovine
Practitioners is made up of veterinary students with a special interest
in beef and dairy practice. The chapter boasts one of the largest
memberships of the veterinary special interest groups. Many members have
roots deep in beef or dairy production while others have had very
limited exposure to cattle and want to increase their large animal
experience in preparation for senior clinics.
Regardless of background, all members enjoy the short monthly meeting
where faculty from the veterinary college and animal science department,
as well as local practitioners, present talks on various topics of
interest. Once or twice each year demonstrations or wet labs are
utilized to afford members "hands-on" training that may not be possible
in the clinical curriculum. Barbecues and other social events round out
the agenda of KSU-AABP activities. Chapter members also have the option
to belong to the national organization and receive all publications and
benefits entitled by its membership.
KSU-AABP extends a sincere invitation to any student in the College of
Veterinary Medicine with an interest in bovine practice to join our
organization.
