Purpose:
The College of Veterinary Medicine receives many requests each year from students from
veterinary colleges and veterinarians around the world to complete externships of 3 to 15
weeks duration within the KSU-Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital or the Hill's National
Practice Management Center. The goals of most of these students are to gain specialized
expertise and/or to fulfill externship requirements for graduation. Visiting students or
veterinarians add diversity to the College's academic programs by bringing experiences and
points of view from their home institutions and nations, and the visitors, and the
College's faculty and students gain from these visits.
These policies and procedures are established to allow visiting students and veterinarians
to participate in this College's curriculum or academic programs. Visiting veterinary
students, veterinarians or other approved students shall be herein-designated
