Is there an application fee for students
(U.S. and International) applying to graduate school?
Yes: there is a $30.00 fee for U.S. citizens and
permanent residents and a $55.00 fee for international applicants.
Will students applying for a graduate
certificate program have to pay an application fee?
No. The application fee will be waived for students applying for a
graduate certificate program. If a student later wishes to apply to
a graduate degree program, they will be required to pay an
application fee.
Will students who paid an application
fee to a master's program have to pay again when applying to a
doctoral program within the same program?
No.
Will students who paid an application
fee to a master's program have to pay again when applying to a
doctoral program in another program?
No.
Will students who received an
undergraduate degree from K-State have to pay the application fee
for a graduate degree?
Yes.
If a student is admitted, does not
enroll, and is then readmitted for another semester, does the
student have to pay the application fee a second time?
Yes, IF the readmission is more than a full year later, the fee will
have to be paid again.
Will personal checks be acceptable for
U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international applications?
Yes. The checks must be drawn on U.S. banks and should be
made payable to the "KSU Graduate School".
Will all students be able to apply
online and pay with a credit card?
Yes, IF the credit card company authorizes payment.
How will programs know who has paid
the fee on-line?
When an on-line application is sent to the program (i.e., PhD
program in Physiology), there will be an indication on the
application that the fee has been paid.
Will the Graduate School process an
application if the fee has not been received?
No. The graduate program will be responsible for contacting the
student and requesting the student to submit the application fee.
What if a student completes the wrong
application?
If an international student submits the "U.S. citizen or permanent
resident" application and pays the $30 applicaiton fee, we will
immediately contact the student to pay the additional $25 and to
submit the "international application" and any other required
documents that may not have been sent.
