Several months ago our students were invited to submit essays to the Old Gray
Dog Foundation describing situations involving animals that reflected their personal
understandings of compassionate care.
Carmin Elliott, a first year student, received $1800 for her first
place essay.
Each of the following students received $800 scholarships for their
essays: Danielle Pokorny (1st year class), Jodi Branson (2nd year class), and Kurt
Detweiler (3rd year class).
Nineteen students wrote essays for the foundation.
Congratulations to all who entered the essay contest.
