Birthing Center, Kansas State Fair

For the past 10 years, students and faculty from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University have conducted a "Birthing Center" at the State Fair. This was again a highlight of the 2000 State Fair in Hutchinson, KS. This exhibit, which shares a building with the KVMA exhibit, ran from September 8-17. The 2000 exhibit was organized by Dr. David Gnad, and staffed by faculty members and house officers from AgPractices. Students play an important role in the success of the birthing center, and they generally volunteered for 2 day assignments at the exhibit.
