Research Assistant
A research assistant (RA) position is available
immediately to assist in conducting coordinated collaborative studies to
validate immuno-based and PCR-based protocols for detection of selected
bacteria and toxins in defined food matrices. The individual will have
an excellent opportunity to evaluate state of the art bacterial and
toxin detection technologies. The successful candidate must demonstrate
excellent research skills, technical communication abilities, and have
demonstrated laboratory experience, preferably involving bacteriology,
immunoassay and/or PCR detection methods.
The successful candidate must be
able to undergo and maintain a favorable background investigation, must
be able to undergo and maintain a favorable CDC/APHIS clearance as
required and must be able to obtain and maintain a final US Government
security clearance if required. This is a one year term appointment with
a highly competitive salary, and includes a complete benefits package.
