Research

My primary research interests are to study and understand the pathogenesis of important infectious diseases of animals, and to develop strategies to protect animals from these diseases. Identification, molecular characterization and functional analysis of antigen/toxins of Streptococcus suis, Mannheimia haemolytica, and Fusobacterium necrophorum are my primary research focuses.

Teaching

I coordinate and teach a portion of the professional Veterinary Bacteriology and Mycology course to sophomore veterinary students. This is a 3 +1 credit hour lecture and laboratory course. The course is designed to provide the latest information on all facts of the microbial pathogens of animals of veterinary interest.
