Small Animal Medicine Resident:
Kansas State University Veterinary Medical Teaching
Hospital is offering a three-year residency program in Small Animal Medicine, with
opportunity for advanced study. The resident will participate in all aspects of the
services provided by the small animal medicine section. Enrollment in the graduate school
and completion of a program of study leading to a Master of Science or PhD degree, is
optional. The residency program will include participation in clinical teaching, didactic
lectures and continuing education programs. The resident will have increased teaching and
case management responsibilities with each year of residency.
The primary goal of the residency program are to
provide a training experience that will lead to board certification in the ACVIM. Another
aim is to provide research experience and additional scientific training. The resident
will be required to submit two first author publications to a refereed journal during the
residency program. A minimum of one publication should be the reporting of original
research.
Annual re-appointment of the resident is contingent
on continued satisfactory performance in all aspects of the Program.
