ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES RESEARCH Tenure/Tenure Track Faculty, 9-Month Appointment (80% Research and 20% Teaching) Position Number 108342 Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM) at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland invite applications from qualified individuals for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in infectious disease research. This 9-month appointment will be at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean of the VMRCVM, Maryland Campus and Chair, Department of Veterinary Medicine, UMD. The department boasts an excellent core facility, which includes BSL-2 and BSL-3 suites. Responsibilities: · Current focus is on host-pathogen interaction with emphases in virology, immunology, bacterial pathogenesis, epidemiology and public health. · Investigators with research emphases in animal, zoonotic and/or public health diseases are encouraged to apply. · The position requires 80% research and 20% teaching responsibilities, to include active involvement in the Graduate School Program. · The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a productive, extramurally-funded research program to strengthen the current research goals of the College. Qualifications: Required - · DVM/PhD or PhD degree with relevant post-doctoral training. Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
