Since September 22, 2000, the KSU College of Veterinary Medicine has been participating in a software licensing agreement with Microsoft. The Microsoft® Campus Agreement 3.0 is an annual licensing program specially created to address the unique needs of higher education institutions and is based on the concept of counting Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) instead of machines. The Campus Agreement gives higher education institutions the rights to run the licensed software, and licenses all upgrades and downgrades of the software throughout the term of the agreement.
The Campus Agreement includes the following platform of products currently used at KSUCVM:
Microsoft Office Standard/Professional Editions
Microsoft Office Macintosh Editions
Microsoft Windows OS Upgrades
Microsoft BackOffice Server Client Access License (CAL)
Microsoft FrontPage
Microsoft Visual Studio Professional Edition
Besides providing the license to install software on all the computers in offices, labs, and classrooms within the college, an added benefit of this agreement is the license to install a copy of the software, for school related purposes, on machines that licensed faculty and staff may own at home.
