Research Interests:
My research interests lie in the interaction of the cardiovascular system with innate immune mechanisms. For example, we are currently investigating the participation of an oxidant-generating enzyme (NADPH oxidase) in inflammatory cell injury, and the degree to which injury can be limited by inhibition of the NADPH oxidase by antimicrobial peptides. Other interests include the participation of antimicrobial peptides in protection from bovine pinkeye.
