Dr. Marshall "Jack" P. Reeve is a man that is trusted and respected by his peers. He is a Kansan, a veterinarian, and an entrepreneur whose influence has traveled far and wide. Dr. Reeve was named the 1995 Distinguished Alumnus.

Dr. Reeve earned a veterinary medicine degree from K-State in July of 1943 after obtaining a degree from Garden City Junior College in 1940. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps from the time of his graduation until 1946.

Dr. Reeve has served his profession as a practitioner in private practice in St. Charles, Mo. and in Garden City, Kansas. Dr. Reeve started feeding cattle at Brookover Feed Yard near Garden City in 1953 which led to the purchase of O. G. Reeve Ranch in 1959. He was also the owner of the Reever Cattle Co. in Garden City from 1960 to 1985. Among his many endeavors, he was director of the Fidelity State Bank in Garden City from 1968-1988.

In the 1950s, Reeve was a member of the Kansas Board of Examiners as well as the president of the Kansas Livestock Association and regent for the Kansas Board of Regents in Topeka, Kansas. from 1975 through 1980. During this time he also became the Regional Vice-President for Kansas, Texas, and Ark. through the National Cattlemen out of Denver, Colorado. Dr. Reeve is a life-time member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Producers Association, N.M. Cattle Growers, American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and Santa Fe Trail Association.

Dr. Reeve has contributed significantly to his profession. He has guided the direction of higher education in Kansas as a member of the Kansas Board of Regents. Dr. Reeve is a living example of the impact a veterinarian can have through hard work and commitment.
