The 1985 E. R. Frank Alumni Recognition Award
Dr. Milleret
spent his early years on a dairy farm near Kansas City, Kansas.
He received his DVM degree in 1944. Dr. Milleret
was in general practice in Osceola, Iowa from 1944 to 1948.
Dr. Milleret was an area supervisor for USDA in
Missouri from 1945 to 1949. He was later served the Foot and Mouth
Eradication Program in Mexico from 1949 to 1950.
He served the US Army Veterinary Corps for two
years.
Roy was in general practice in Bonner Springs,
Kansas for several years.
He returned to Kansas State University in 1959 and
earned a Master of Science degree in Pathology.
He was an active member of the Continuing Education
Committee for many years and served on committees for the University
and College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Milleret was involved in KVMA,
AVMA, Kansas Livestock Association and United States Livestock
Sanitary Association. He served on professional committees of the AVMA.
Roy Milleret has earned recognition as an excellent
gross pathologist. Dr. Milleret served the Department of Surgery and
Medicine and was a member of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory for
twenty years. He showed a high degree of excellence and a
conscientious dedication to all of his responsibilities. His
effectiveness in presenting diseased processes in the classroom is
well known. He excelled in both the laboratory evaluations and in
on-site production herd problems to arrive at corrective treatments
and control of disease problems. His ability in the use of diagnostic
skills is well documented.
