Frick Auditorium, Mosier Hall, College of Veterinary Medicine, 1800 Denison, Manhattan, KS
Frick Auditorium is located on the second floor of Mosier Hall. Enter at the Emergency Entrance. Signs will be posted to direct you to registration.

Parking
Parking is available on the west side (off Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of the Veterinary Medical Complex. A parking permit is not required for weekend parking. Do not park in the client parking or reserved stalls as you may get ticketed.
 

Conference Objectives
The Student Chapter of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners at Kansas State University invites practitioners and students to attend their conference on bovine medicine. This year we will be working on BVD and Anaplasmosis, along with a Bovine Lameness and Hoof Care Wetlab. The student research paper presentations will include cutting edge information on Agricultural Practice topics.
 

NOTE: The K-State Wildcats Football Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 6:00 pm.


K-State Conference Speakers

David Anderson, DVM, MS, DACVS
Professor and Section Head, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Anderson received his DVM from North Carolina State University. He then completed a 1-year internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia and a 3-year residency at Kansas State University. Dr. Anderson became a board certified specialist in surgery (DACVS) in 1995. While at Kansas State University, he earned a MS degree in Clinical Sciences. After 11 years at The Ohio State University as Head of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Anderson returned to K-State in 2006 as Professor and Section Head of Agricultural Practices.

Johann (Hans) Coetzee, BVSc, Cert CHP, PhD, MRCVS, DACVCP
Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Sciences
Dr. Hans Coetzee obtained his BVSc degree from the University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort), South Africa in 1996 and was admitted to membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). He then spent four years in mixed veterinary practice in Northern Ireland where he was awarded the Northern Ireland Veterinarian of the Year Award in 2000. In September 2000, he obtained a Certificate in Cattle Health and Production from the RCVS. Dr. Coetzee then joined the Research and Development department at Norbrook Laboratories Ltd. where he conducted pharmaceutical trials. In 2002, Dr. Coetzee relocated to the United States where he was appointed as an adjunct instructor and later as a veterinarian at Iowa State University. He obtained his PhD in Veterinary Microbiology from Iowa State University in August 2005. Dr Coetzee joined the K-State faculty in September 2005.

Meredyth Jones, DVM, MS
Clinical Assistant Professor, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Jones received her DVM from Oklahoma State University in 2002. She entered private practice at the Midway Veterinary Clinic in Brandenburg, Kentucky for one year. She then completed a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine-Emphasis Food Animal and received an MS degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at Oklahoma State University in 2006. Dr. Jones joined the K-State faculty in July of 2006.

Bob Larson, DVM, PhD, DACT, DACAN, DACVPM
Professor, Coleman Chair
Dr. Larson received his DVM in 1987 from Kansas State University. After one year in mixed practice, he returned to K-State and received his PhD in 1992. He then returned to private practice for four years. In 1996, Dr. Larson joined the faculty at the University of Missouri as a veterinary beef production specialist for University Extension in the College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2003, Dr. Larson became director of Veterinary Extension and Continuing Education at the University of Missouri. Dr. Larson recently joined the K-State faculty in the spring of 2006 as the Edgar E. and M. Elizabeth Coleman Chair in Food Animal Production Medicine.

Matt Miesner, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Clinical Assistant Professor, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Miesner received his DVM from Washington State University in 1999. He then practiced as an associate veterinarian in general private practice in Pasco, Washington before beginning a residency in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery at The Ohio State University. After his residency Dr. Miesner remained there as a clinical instructor and a year later was appointed as an assistant professor. While at The Ohio State University, Matt also received his MS degree. Dr. Miesner joined the K-State faculty in August of 2006.
