Therapeutic Sessions
Join us for lunch Monday, June 4th as we honor Dr. Dan Upson for his
contributions to K-State and the
veterinary medical community. Several “therapeutics” conference sessions
have been scheduled as part of the tribute as well. The Class of 1962
Endowment for Veterinary Medicine was established to support an ongoing
lectureship to be held in honor of Dr. Dan Upson.
Take a virtual tour of the BRI building which is a comprehensive
biosafety level 3 facility, providing an environmentally safe and secure
location for K-state scientists to study pathogens that threaten humans,
livestock and crops. Research conducted in the BRI will examine pathways
by which pathogens can spread and look at issues related to
counter-measures and animal carcass disposal after a potentially
catastrophic event. On-site virtual tour is limited to 50 registrants.
Live video feed will be available at the Student Union for overflow.
Dr. David Ashford, Assistant Area Director, International Services,

Veterinarians Serving Their Country in Federal Service.
Presentation sponsored by the Donald C.
Kelley Memorial Lectureship
Dr. Ashford’s presentation is provided via funds from the Donald C.
Kelley Memorial Lectureship. The Lectureship was established in memoriam
of Dr. Donald C. Kelley, Professor of Veterinary Public Health at Kansas
State University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1958 to 1978. It
was Dr. Kelley’s belief that public health is not a separate discipline
but plays an important part in the practice of veterinary medicine in
many areas.
