The objectives of this conference are to cover a gamut of neurologic
diseases in dogs and cats that occur in the emergency setting. Some
disorders are truly emergent i.e., acute spinal cord injury, head trauma
and status epilepticus; whereas others occur acutely but still pose a
diagnostic challenge i.e., vestibular disease, acute lower motor neuron
disease. These discussions will use case-based materials to provide a
review of neuroanatomic localization differential diagnoses, diagnostic
approaches, and specific therapeutic strategies.
