Objectives
This conference will familiarize the practitioner with:

  • New medications, bandaging products, and bandage techniques;

  • Techniques to repair and salvage distal limb and paw wounds; and

  • Management and reconstruction of problem wounds on the head and face.

Guest Speakers
Steve Swaim, DVM
Dr. Swaim received his DVM degree from Kansas State University in 1965 and his MS degree in Veterinary Surgery from Auburn University in 1971. He practiced in Wichita, Kansas for one year following graduation from veterinary college. He served in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps in a medical research laboratory at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland for two years. This was followed by another year of practice in Denver, Colorado. He progressed from Research Associate to Professor Emeritus at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine from 1969 to present. He has published 272 journal publications, 35 book chapters, and 2 books. He is working on a third book at present. He lectures locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally on the subject of wound management and reconstructive surgery.
