Practice Management Center is located on the fourth floor of Trotter Hall. Enter at the Dean's Office Entrance. Signs will be posted to direct you to registration.

Objectives
Lectures will include a discussion of basic anatomy and physiology, diagnostic techniques, and current treatment modalities. The wet lab will demonstrate current diagnostic techniques used to perform a complete ophthalmic examination and allow participants to gain experience using diagnostic equipment.

KSU College of Veterinary Medicine Speakers
Joshua Bartoe, DVM, MS
Resident, Ophthalmology
Dr. Bartoe received his DVM degree and MS degree in molecular retrovirology from The Ohio State University in 2001. He completed an internship in small animal clinical sciences at Michigan State University in 2002. Dr. Bartoe is currently in his second year of a three-year residency in veterinary ophthalmology at Kansas State University. His research interests include pharmacologic management of glaucoma and herpes keratoconjunctivitis.

Alan Brightman, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVO
Professor, Ophthalmology
Dr. Brightman received his DVM degree from Kansas State University in 1974. His post-graduate training included an Internship at University of California-Davis and a Residency/MS degree program at the University of Illinois. Dr. Brightman is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and served as an Assistant and Associate Professor as well as Chief of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois before joining the faculty of Kansas State University in 1988 as a Professor of Ophthalmology. At KSU he served as Head of Small Animal Medicine and then as Head of Special Medicine until 1996. His clinical interests cover the spectrum of medical and surgical ophthalmology of all species. His research interests are in tear film protective mechanisms, the role of aldose reductase inhibitors in diabetic cataracts and infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis. Dr. Brightman is also a consultant in the area of biosecurity.

Harriet Davidson, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVO
Associate Professor, Ophthalmology
Dr. Davidson received her DVM in 1985 and then completed her MS degree and a residency in 1990 at Michigan State University. She completed a Fellowship in mucosal immunology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1992. She joined the faculty of Kansas State University in 1992 as an Assistant Professor. In 1994 she left to pursue other goals. During that time she maintained a private ophthalmology practice and was a clinical instructor at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 1997 she returned to Kansas State University. Her time is divided between clinical patients, research and teaching. Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis is her primary research interest.
