KSU College of Veterinary Medicine Speakers
Shirley Arck
, PharmD, FSVHP
Director of Pharmacy
Dr. Arck received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas. She is currently Director of Pharmacy at the KSU Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital after practicing community pharmacy for 17 years. She is a fellow of the Society of Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists and serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Kansas teaching future pharmacists about veterinary pharmacy.

Gregory Grauer, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM-Internal Medicine
Department Head, Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Grauer received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1978. He completed an internship, residency and a master of science degree at Colorado State University. Subsequently, he served on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for seven years. In 1989, he returned to Colorado State University faculty where he was Professor and Section Chief of small animal internal medicine. Greg has also served as President and Chairman of the Board of Regents of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Currently, he is the KSU Clinical Sciences Department Head. His research and clinical interests involve the small animal urinary system.

Kenneth Harkin, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM-Internal Medicine
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Harkin received his DVM from Iowa State University and completed a residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University. He was in a private referral practice for three years before joining the faculty at Kansas State University in 1997. He is currently an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine in the department of Clinical Sciences.

Allison Heaney, DVM
Resident, Cardiology
Dr. Heaney received her DVM from Kansas State University. She was in private practice for several years before returning to KSU to undertake a residency in cardiology.

Aimee Kidder, DVM
Resident, Small Animal Medicine
Dr. Kidder received her DVM from Louisiana State University. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University before becoming a resident in small animal medicine at KSU.

Lisa Moore, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM-SAIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Moore received her DVM from the University of Florida in 1991. She completed an internship and medical residency at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Lisa went on to complete a third year of her medical residency at the University of Florida and then returned to the AMC as the staff gastroenterologist from 1995-1997. She was in private practice in Tampa, FL before joining the Kansas State University faculty in August 1998.

Stacy Santoro, DVM
Resident, Oncology
Dr. Santoro received her DVM from Iowa State University. She completed an internship at a busy small animal referral practice in Red Bank, New Jersey before joining K-State as a resident in oncology.

Thomas Schermerhorn, VMD, Diplomate ACVIM-SAIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Schermerhorn received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed an internship at South Shore Veterinary Associates and went on to complete a residency in small animal medicine at Cornell University. He then completed research in Pharmacology toward a PhD and joined the KSU faculty in 2001.
