APVMA Pre-Vet Symposium
National Pre-Veterinary Symposium is an annual
event hosted by an APVMA member pre-vet club and their corresponding
veterinary medical school. It brings members representing clubs from
across the country together for a weekend of veterinary-related
interaction, learning, and recreation. At the symposium, the hosting
veterinary medical school provides lectures and wet-labs by their own
veterinary faculty as well as field trips to animal-related activities
in their community.
Location
The 2002 Pre-Vet Symposium will be held at the Kansas State University
College of Veterinary Medicine, Denison Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas.
Make Money For Your Association
If your club has t-shirts or other fundraising merchandise for sale, be sure to bring some
along to Symposium. Display booths will be set up at the hotel Friday late afternoon. Any
club interested is welcome to set up a booth. Please contact Shanna Miller or Linda Martin
at the KSU Pre-Vet Club in advance if you plan to have a booth.
National Officers
Anyone interested in running for an APVMA office for 2002-2003 may submit a letter of
intent with background information, qualifications, and reasons for pursuing an office by
January 31, 2002. For more information on the offices, and the APVMA Constitution, visit
the APVMA website: http://www.vetsci.sdstate.edu/~apvma/
Hosting the 2003 Symposium
If your association is interested in hosting the 2003 Symposium, you must make a bid
presentation at Saturday evenings dinner. Your presentation should be no more than
10 minutes long and state why your school should be chosen to host the APVMA Symposium.
