Frick Auditorium is located on the second floor of Mosier Hall.  Enter at the Small Animal Entrance.  Signs will be posted to direct you to registration.

Parking
Parking is available on the west side (off Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of the Veterinary Medical Complex.  A parking permit is required for weekend parking.  Do not park in the client parking or reserved stalls as you may get ticketed.

Objectives
The objective of the Bovine Conference is to provide the food animal practitioner with information that will aid in the decision making process with regard to vaccinations and total herd health.

Guest Speakers
Chris Chase, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVM
Associate Professor, College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences
Veterinary Science Department, South Dakota State University
Dr. Chase received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1980. He received his MS in 1987 and PhD in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Chris’s professional emphasis is in virology research, molecular virology, and immunology.

Dan Grooms, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVM
Assistant Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine
Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, Michigan State University
Dr. Grooms received his BS from Cornell University in 1985. He then completed his DVM in 1989 and PhD in 1997, both at The Ohio State University. His professional specialty is bovine infectious diseases. Dan’s research interests include control and prevention of bovine infectious diseases and pre-harvest food safety.

Steve Henry, DVM, Diplomate ABVP
Veterinary Practitioner, Abilene Animal Hospital, P.A., Abilene, Kansas
Dr. Henry received his DVM from Kansas State University in 1972. Steve's expertise is in diseases and health management of pigs. He and his partners provide veterinary services to pork producers and consultation services to the industry throughout North and South America. Steve’s experience is primarily in disease prevention and therapy, including procedures to limit excessive uses of medicines and vaccines in health control programs.

Paul Walz, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Food Animal Medicine and Surgery
College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University
Dr. Walz received his DVM in 1992 from Michigan State University. He then completed a residency and MS in 1997 and his PhD in 2000 also at MSU. Paul joined the faculty of Kansas State University in 2000 as an assistant professor of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery. Paul’s veterinary interests include medical and surgical conditions affecting food animals, as well as infectious diseases of cattle. His research interests focus on infectious diseases of cattle, specifically infection of cattle with bovine viral diarrhea virus.
