Objectives
Recommendations for equine vaccination are rapidly changing due to the introduction of intranasal vaccines
and extensive investigation and reassessment of vaccination guidelines in foals less than 1 year of age.
The Kansas State University faculty will review clinical presentation and treatment of these infectious diseases.
Dr. Barnett will review, evaluate, and provide new thoughts regarding principles and guidelines for vaccinating
foals. Dr. Morgan will review complications of intramuscular vaccines. Dr. Bigbie and a Heska representative
will present data regarding safety and efficacy of the newly-released intranasal vaccines.
