Senior Orthopedic Surgeon

The Department of Clinical Studies–Philadelphia, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a position in Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery in the Clinician-Educator Track, at the Associate or Full Professor level.

Clinician Educators are members of the Standing faculty who expend up to 67% of their effort in clinical and teaching endeavors, with the balance of their effort devoted to research and other scholarly pursuits. Collaborative research opportunities abound within the School of Veterinary medicine and the wider Penn biomedical research community. The Section of Surgery is currently staffed by two orthopedic surgeons, four soft tissue surgeons, one lecturer, two staff veterinarians and nine residents. The case load is diverse and consists primarily of dogs and cats, with increasing numbers of exotic species.

Qualifications include a veterinary degree, ACVS board certification and a proven record of excellence in clinical research; outstanding surgical practice and patient care in both orthopedic and neurosurgery; and excellent teaching and training of veterinary students, interns and residents.

The salary will be commensurate with the candidate's training and experience.
