Faculty Position in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery

 

The Department of Clinical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a Clinician-Educator Track faculty position in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Responsibilities for the Clinician Educator position include patient care; instruction of senior veterinary students, interns and residents; lecturing to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year veterinary students; and clinical research. A focus in Minimally Invasive Surgery and /or Interventional Radiology is highly desirable. To facilitate research and scholarly activity, clinical service will not exceed 67% of a Clinician-Educator’s time. The successful candidate will join our Surgery Section of six faculty members, two staff veterinarians and eight residents. Collaborations for training and research currently exist with the Interventional Radiology service and several minimally invasive surgery programs at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. Starting salary and rank will reflect the candidate’s previous experience and accomplishments.

Candidates must have a veterinary degree and post-doctoral surgical residency training. Board certification or eligibility for board certification in small animal surgery is desirable. Training and experience in minimally invasive surgery and/or interventional radiology is highly desirable. The search committee will begin considering applications immediately. The starting date is negotiable.
