Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery
The University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Studies-Philadelphia, Section of Surgery, invites applications for a Lecturer position in Small Animal Surgery. Up to 75% of the surgeon’s time will be devoted to clinical service in the soft tissue and orthopedic surgery with the remaining time dedicated to scholarly activity. In addition to working in a dynamic hospital setting with excellent support staff, the advantages of the position include an exciting intellectual environment with outstanding residents and faculty boarded in surgery, dentistry, critical care, anesthesiology, radiology, oncology, and internal medicine. There is unsurpassed opportunity for participation in clinical or laboratory research and teaching. Every effort will be made to schedule ample time out of clinics to permit study for Board preparation or clinical research and scholarly activity, according to the interests of the candidates. Candidates must have a veterinary degree; preference will be given to applicants who are either Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Surgery or are completing a residency training program and will become board eligible in this field. Applications will be reviewed until a suitable candidate is identified. Start date is July 15, 2010 or as negotiated.
