Diagnostic Pathologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Clinical Diagnostic Pathology
Diagnostic Pathologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Clinical Diagnostic Pathology, in the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory System (CAHFS) and Department of Pathology, Microbiology, & Immunology, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate will be in residence at the CAHFS laboratory in San Bernardino, CA.
Veterinarian with advanced training in anatomic pathology required. PhD in veterinary pathology or related field preferred. Certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists or equivalent preferred. A demonstrated interest and aptitude in food animal, equine, and avian diagnostic pathology and disease investigation preferred. Demonstrated scholarly research production desired. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
The candidate will function as a diagnostic pathologist in a food animal, equine and avian diagnostic laboratory in San Bernardino, California. Emphasis will be placed on diagnosis of diseases affecting food animal species. Interaction with veterinarians and livestock producers is an integral part of this position.
Creative use of diagnostic case material is an essential requirement of the position, including publication of findings. The incumbent will have clinical and limited didactic teaching responsibilities to veterinary students, undergraduate, graduate students, and residents. University and public service through committee work, participation in professional organizations, continuing education and other appropriate means is required.
