Faculty Position in Oncology
The Department of Clinical Studies–Philadelphia, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania is planning to expand its Comparative Oncology program. We invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Companion Animal Oncology, but also encourage applications from candidates at any professorial rank. This is a Standing Faculty position in the Clinician-Educator Track with responsibilities in patient care; instruction of veterinary students, interns and residents; and clinical research. There is an opportunity for interested candidates to establish clinical trials in conjunction with our Veterinary Clinical Investigation Center. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Section of Oncology and the Oncology Service, a component of the School's Mari Lowe Center for Comparative Oncology, which is committed to establishing excellence in clinical and investigative oncology. There are numerous collaborative research possibilities within the School of Veterinary Medicine and the wider University of Pennsylvania biomedical research community.
Candidates must have a veterinary degree and post-doctoral residency training. Preference will be given to applicants who are Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Specialty of Oncology), or who are eligible for board certification in the ACVIM (Oncology). Salary will be dependent on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Time out of clinics will be scheduled for research and other scholarly activities.
